Lately there seems to be a flood of free ebooks for our Kindles. It is nice to post a long list of freebies, but lately some of them aren't worth the e-ink. I don't like samples disguised as freebies. If I want a sample of a book, I will order one to be sent to my Kindle.
I don't mind a free ebook that is actually the first in a series. My daughter and I have gotten hooked on two Melody Carlson series just from free "first in a series" books for our Kindles. The Gabaldon book, The Outlander is an amazing surprise. It is the first in a series I have loved for years. The Outlander series was one of the first series of books I purchased for my Kindle... to read again and keep close.
I think what I am trying to say is if you get a huge list of freebies, see if there are any reviews before you "buy now." Someone is bound to give you a clue or two. And if you do download a dud or two, they are quite easy to remove from your Kindle. Just navigate to the book title, then toggle to the right and choose "Remove from Device."
