Kindle Skills - Saving Your Place

July 7, 2010 Cindy O'Neal

Well, there are bookmarks, if you want to mark a particular spot (or spots) in a book.

  • With your book open, press the Menu button, then toggle the 5-way switch down until the words Add a Bookmark is underlined. Press in on the 5-way to make it happen
  • The keyboard command to quickly add a bookmark is ALT+B. While holding down the ALT key on the keyboard, press the letter B once.
You don't need a bookmark though, to save your place when you are reading a book (or several at a time). Your Kindle will always remember where you are at any given moment. If you put the Kindle down, or switch to another book. Whenever you return to something you have are already into, the moment you open it, you will be faced with the last page you were reading. Now isn't that nice?

Keep your Kindle close. You never know when the opportunity to escape into a book will happen!
