Kindle Skills - Follow the Dots

Know where you are at all times: Look for the dots...at the bottom of every page of every book or blog you have opened. Look also at the book titles on your Home pages or within your Collections on your home pages. Below each title you will see a series of dots. These give you an idea of just how long each book is, with the longer lines of dots indicating the longer books.

Look for any books with bold dots at the beginning of the lines of dots. These indicate how much you have already read in a particular book, or where you were last (relative to the end of the book), or a percentage of what you have read so far based on the last page you viewed.

When you have a book opened: You don't really see the dots, but if you look at the bottom of each page you will see the progress indicator. You can see how far (percentage) you are into the book so far, the location  number (where you are), and little lines across the progress indicator. These might indicate chapters or articles (if it is a blog). Use the toggle to the right (Kindle 2) or the right button on the 5 way controller to go forward in a book a chapter or article at a time. note: not all books have these markers, but the better formatted ones certainly will.
