Kindle Skills - Google Recipes

Something new has happened with Google...
It has turned your Kindle (when connected to the Internet) into a virtually unlimited, world-wide access, cookbook and cooking reference tool. Of course you still need to add My Family Cookbook to your collection, just because.
Make sure your Kindle is connected to the Internet. Then from your Home screen or even if you are in the middle of a good book, type the words Microwave Caramel Corn Recipe. Then move your 5-way to the right until Google is highlighted. Press in on the 5 way to begin the search.

You will see two columns on the initial results web page. The left column is a little different now, with a few extra Google choices available. One is a separate link just for Recipes. Click it. It is fun to explore. Further down you will see Ingredients choices, cooking time choices, calorie options and more, all food related. This is an amazing resource and I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do. The Kindle is great in the kitchen!

Browser note: You can do searches like this in your browser on your regular computer too... In fact, with the newer browsers, it isn't even necessary to bring up a dedicated Google web page. Just type what you are searching for in the actual address (where you see http://etc) box of your browser. Spaces between words are fine, caps are not necessary... Just pretend it is a regular search box. Then press the Enter key on your keyboard and watch the magic happen. Whatever your default search engine is (probably google), just typing something that isn't an actual web address will cause it to go into action. When the dust clears, you will see the results of your "search" without having to really go to any special search box at all.

Try it... You'll like it.
