I hope I'm not getting a big head, but I'm not surprised any more when people are so astonished when I manage to come up with an answer to a computer issue (just read me the error message), trivia questions, and God knows any other questions tossed my way.
If they don't know Google is my "secret weapon" by now, they will never understand. So I just smile and accept the accolades.
You can too. And if you have a Kindle, you can do it just about anywhere.
Make sure your Kindle has a connection to the Internet (don't you just LOVE that 3G!), type what you are looking for (caps and punctuation not necessary), press the key to navigate to the right until the word google is highlighted. Press in on the middle button to begin your search. The beauty is you can search anywhere your Kindle can pick up a signal... for FREE.
It is absolute vanity to assume you are the only one to ever have received a particular error message on your computer, or had a lockup under particular circumstances. The next time it happens to you, write down the exact error message and do a google search for it. You will be surprised at how un-alone you really are. If you describe your issue just right, you will not only discover you are not alone, you will probably, in no more time than what it will take for your Kindle to search via google, have the answer or cure in your hands. At the very least, you will have lots to read, and can choose the solution you want to try yourself. You will see lots of choices.
Try to remain humble though. Taking all the credit is tacky.
