My Family Cookbook - Sample

Note: If you are reading this on your Kindle and want to get a book from the Kindle store now, type the title with your Kindle, then toggle your 5-way switch to the right until the word store is highlighted. Press in on it to search. When the title comes up, use the 5-way toggle switch to move around the book info area to read more about the book, purchase the book, or have a sample sent to your Kindle. You can keep a free sample of any book as long as you like. It is a great way to check out a book before you commit to an actual purchase and make it your own.

Do take a look at it in the Kindle store and have a sample sent to your Kindle. You will be able to see the complete list of recipes included as well as the formatting.

You can use MS Word to do personal documents, then use Mobipocket Creator (find it with a google search) to quickly turn them into a .prc file, which is just the file you need to put directly into your Kindle Documents folder for use on your personal Kindle.

Enjoy this little sample... If you have a sweet tooth, this will fix it!

Dessert - Bread Pudding

This is a great way to get a little extra mileage out of bread that has gotten a little old, but isn't stale enough to toss.

Ingredients:
1/2 loaf stale bread (broken into small pieces)
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups whole milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 cup raisins

Directions:
In 4 cup measuring cup, mix eggs and sugar well
Add milk and vanilla and mix
Add bread pieces (enough to soak into the milk mixture)  Mixture will be thick when stirring
Stir in raisins
Pour mixture into a baking pan
sprinkle cinnamon on top of mixture
bake in 350 degree F oven until knife poked in center comes out clean (about 45 minutes)
