Multiple Kindles and Archives

Cindy,

I have a Kindle 3 and a Kindle Fire.
When I download a freebie, Amazon asks if I wish to download it to my Kindle
(Kindle 3), or my Kindle 2 (Kindle Fire).
Do I need to download it to both Kindles or just one?

Thanks so much for your question Lynn. It is a goodie!

If you have multiple Kindles and "purchase" a free book, it doesn't matter where you send the book to. It has to go to one of your Kindles (or even your Kindle Cloud Reader) to lock in the purchase and make it yours. After that, you can, from any of your other Kindles, find that book in your Archives, and download it to that Kindle at that time. Most books you can have on up to 6 devices (attached to one account) at a time.

Warmest Regards,
Cindy

And if you like it... help me spread the word! If you have a Kindle 2 or 3 (Kindle Keyboard), it is still very timely. And the folder and file structure information is helpful no matter what kind of Kindle you have. If you hook your Kindle up to your computer with a USB cable and want to transfer files, the files still need to go to the Documents folder on your Kindle.
