You can still press the Alt +B keys and bookmark any page you are on, but here is a new (additional) twist...
Try using the 5 way switch to navigate to a place on a page, then press the center key twice (like a double click)
How about that! You will need to press Alt+B to remove the bookmark you just created. A "double click" won't do it. And I'm not sure if you can double click the toggle on the Kindle 2 (don't have one handy), but if you have one, give it a try. Who knows?!
