On most of your little devices (iPhone, Android phones etc) when you need to enter a number for one reason or another, you have to press a corresponding button to change from a letter keyboard to the one with numbers and symbols. With the Kindle Fire keyboard though, you can get to any number a little quicker.
Look at the top row of letters. You will see a corresponding number on each key. When typing, you insert a number, hold down any one of the keys on the top row and within a second (or two) the number will appear and automatically be added to the document.
