Why anyone would want to remove those special offers from their Kindle is beyond me, especially since it was what made that Kindle such a bargain. Oh well. If you are tired of those special offers and want to see  your Kindle sleep screen sport the regular Kindle graphics, just go to the manage your Kindle area in your Amazon account and click the words Manage Your Devices in the left column. When your Kindle (or Kindles) appear, click the word Edit to the right of your listed Kindle under the words Special Offers. This is where you can Unsubscribe from the special offers. Once you do this, Amazon will charge you difference you would have paid had you purchased your Kindle minus the special offers. In other words, you can pay an extra $40 and be ad free! Well... at least there are lots of free books available.
